Republicans versus democrats

Republicans believe that th USA should intervene unilaterally if its national interests is at stake regardless of world opinion. Democrats believe the USA should act in the international arena in concert with  strong alliances and broad international support.

Democrats support affirmative action to help blacks and minorities. Republicans believe it works against meritocracy.

Republicans are opposed to abortion and they call it the murdre of the foetus. Democrats support the right of abortion because women should have a right of their bodies. Republicans are opposed to the same-sex marriage and democrats want to legalize it.

Unlike the democrats, Republicans believe in a more robust version of federalism with greater limitations placed on federal power and a larger role for the states.

Republicans believe high taxes and over-regulation of business and farming punish initiative and stifle economic growth.
Democrats believe penalizing achievement with higher taxes and increased government bureaucracy and spending will  guarantee prosperity for everyone.
